Digital Twin for Operations and Maintenance

We will try to answer two questions that all our readers have surely asked themselves at some point:

Why create a digital twin? The answer is clear: to save money on the operation and maintenance of our assets.

What functionalities will I get from this digital twin?

• 3D navigation through a web viewer, accessible from any device.
• Interactive assets: Direct access to specific information related to objects, such as descriptions, associated documentation, etc.
• Integration of information related to occupational risk prevention, health and safety, etc.
• CMMS integration: What is a CMMS?
• SCADA integration: What is SCADA?

In the previous post, we looked at the definition of a digital twin. Now let’s look at the definitions of CMMS and SCADA:

CMMS: Computerized Maintenance Management System. We could define it as software designed to facilitate the management of an organization’s assets and their maintenance, primarily physical assets, although they do not necessarily have to be physical.

SCADA: From the English term “Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition”. We could define it as another type of software (or system) designed to remotely monitor and control a facility, integrating data collected from different sensors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and equipment through different protocols into a single platform. These readings are collected in real time and can also be stored historically.

It is all about working with data, data, and more data. From the initial geometric data to the data generated during project execution or the information required for its maintenance and operation.

The process we follow at ATBIM:
