BIM-Loggy project: development of the digital twin of an industrial plant for the construction of zero-emission buildings homes DIB 4.0
Homes annually consume 30% of primary energy in Europe. Therefore, actions in the field of sustainable building are a key piece in all energy policies.
To address the problem of energy consumption in buildings, it can be done in different ways, for example:
- Through energy management of the consumption of the building in use;
- Through the rehabilitation of buildings;
- Or through sustainable construction strategies. The third strategy is the most efficient and applicable to newly built housing.
Sustainable construction is a way of designing and constructing buildings that minimize the environmental and social impact, and maximize the economic benefit and quality of life of people. This optimization is determined by a broad set of actors and value chains that make the coordination of activities difficult.
The deployment of a correct sustainable construction strategy needs the appropriate digital tools to work on quality and sustainability throughout the entire life cycle of the building (ie. conception, manufacturing, use and dismantling).
Within this framework, the general objective of the project is to contribute to the optimization of industrialized construction through the development of a digital twin that allows managing all the factors that affect quality and sustainability in the field of sustainable construction, focusing on a prefabricated manufacturing process for high-rise buildings.
Specifically, the digital twin includes BIM integration with models of the prefabricated manufacturing process, including an energy model and an internal logistics model.
The final result will be a web tool that, based on the digital replica of a high-rise, modular industrialized housing construction plant, integrates the necessary data to review the real operation based on it at relevant times for the production process.
